Therapy deals with healing pain, dysfunction, and/or conflict. The focus is reflection on difficulties from the past that hampers the ability to move forward or function emotionally in the present. Coaching is future-focused. Although feelings/emotions are a natural part of coaching, the focus is on creating actionable strategies for achieving specific goals. The emphasis is on the action, accountability, and follow-through.
Time blindness is a challenge for ADHDers so it is understandable when this happens occasionally. Please notify me if you are running more than 10 minutes late. You can reschedule a session with a 48-hour notice. Without this, the session may need to be rescheduled or forfeited depending on the frequency or impact to other clients.
The time that your coaching process will take depends on the complexity of your goals and your commitment and openness to your process. Generally, it is a 3 to 6-month commitment.
For your initial visit, you will receive a questionnaire to help get an idea of what your challenges are and what you hope to get out of the entire coaching process.
For sessions thereafter, try to have some idea of what you would like to focus on and we will take it from there!
